SRK's RA-1 Biggest SCI-FI 3D Ever Released gets 95 per cent of shows across multiplexes

Shah Rukh Khan’s over-ambitious superhero project RA.One received quite a few negative reviews in India. Talking from Los Angeles, where the actor was on tour with his film team until Saturday, he says, seeming rather upset, “I was reading some reviews and they were silly. They are looking into some other aspect of filmmaking.”

Internationally, he claims that the Anubhav Sinha directorial got a great response. “LA Times has carried a fantastic movie review,” he insists, before adding, “We presented the film to a lot of people from Fox (Fox Studios, US) and we spoke to the foreign press on the technical aspect of RA.One. It’s important that we promote this ideology and explain to the world that we can do it.”

Within this week, the actor has travelled to Dubai, London and Toronto, before arriving in the US. His promotional rampage in India too made headlines. But the real challenge he claims to face is “showing the world that India too can make high-tech films.”

Till Friday, RA.One had collected over Rs 60 cr at the box office in India, the film’s spokesperson claims. “I feel relieved to see it open well. I’ve been travelling, so I wasn’t able to follow the figures much. All my partners now feel that they’ll be able to recover their money.”

The film, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, released on Diwali, October 26 and was made for a reported budget of Rs 150 crore. Ask him about the sequel, and he says he’s leaving it all to time: “Let’s see how it fares. It’s lot of hard work. I’m happy how people have responded, despite mixed reports. Once it has come to the fore, I’ll give it a thought.”

A few days ago, screenwriter Yash Patnaik accused Shah Rukh Khan and his film’s writer-director Anubhav Sinha of copyright infringement over the concept and story of RA.One. Says an unfazed Khan, “That’s utter nonsense. With all due respect to what all is happening, I don’t want to give it any credibility by commenting on it.” The case is still pending. Khan’s production company has deposited Rs 1 crore with the Bombay High Court to acquire permission to release the film.

Shah Rukh Khan is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of his Diwali release RA.One. And lady luck, too, seems to be on his side. While Khan has roped in the two icons of the film industry - Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, for his opus, multiplex owners have ensured that audiences get little chance of watching anything else this Diwali by giving the film 95 percent of the shows.

Earlier, Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots got a 65 percent share of screenings when it released alongside James Cameron's Avatar. Salman Khan's Dabangg got a 70 percent while Bodyguard got 80 percent SRK, with a 95 percent share for RA.One has beaten the others hands down.

Kareena Kapoor is one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood, given the fact that she has the most number of hits. Bebo's last film Bodyguard with Salman Khan was a super duper hit. And withRa.One release round the corner, Kareena Kapoor is on a high. The film has every chance of being the blockbuster of the year, even crossing the 100 crore mark at the Box Office.

Speaking about her role in Ra.One, Kareena said that the youth will definitely like the role that she plays of a glamorous mom in the film.

Speaking about Shahrukh Khan and his vision of creating a superhero image, Kareena said that she is extremely happy that Shahrukh Khan has lived his dream of making a superhero flick with Ra.One. When her dance number 'chammak challo' in Ra.One was mentioned alongside item number 'sheila ki jawaani' and 'munni badnaam hui', Kareena Kapoor cleared the air and said that 'chammak challo' was not an item number. Bebo says, “The song is very much part of the narration.”

Khan will be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s next directorial Don 2 in December, and will start shooting for Yash Chopra’s film in January 2012.

Bruce Willis The DIE HARD Guy

Born Walter Bruce Willison on March 19, 1955, in West Germany, Bruce Willis's career was launched when he played wisecracking David Addison on TV's Moonlighting opposite Cybill Shepherd. In the summer of 1988, Die Hard, an action-packed flick that cast Willis as the muscle-pumping hero, hit movie screens with a bang, and his status as a bona fide movie star was minted.

German born, New Jersey raised US actor and musician well known for his film appearances as wise cracking or hard edged characters, often in spectacular action films. Collectively, he has appeared in films that have grossed in excess of $2.5 billion USD placing him in the top ten stars in terms of box office receipts. The young Willis picked up an interest for the dramatic arts in high school, and was allegedly "discovered" whilst working in a cafĂ© in NYC and then appeared in a couple of off-Broadway productions.

Bruce Willis grew up mainly in Peens Grove, New Jersey, and graduated from high school there before going to New York to become an actor. He waited tables and tended bar for a living until he began to get roles in plays. While tending bar one night he was seen by a casting director who liked his personality and needed a bartender for a small movie role.

Willis acquired major personal success and pop culture influence playing John McClane in 1988's Die Hard. This film was followed up by Die Hard 2: Die Harder in 1990 and Die Hard With a Vengeance in 1995.[7] These first three installments in the Die Hard series grossed over US$700 million internationally and propelled Willis to the first rank of Hollywood action stars.

In the early 1990s, Willis's career suffered a moderate slump starring in flops such as The Bonfire of the Vanities, Striking Distance, and a film he co-wrote titled Hudson Hawk, among others. He starred in a leading role in the highly sexualized thriller Color of Night (1994), which was very poorly received by critics, but did well in the home video market and became one of the Top 20 most-rented films in the United States in 1995. However, in 1994, he had a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's acclaimed Pulp Fiction, which gave a new boost to his career. In 1996, he was the executive producer of the cartoon Bruno the Kid which featured a CGI representation of himself.

He went on to play the lead roles in Twelve Monkeys (1995) and The Fifth Element (1997). However, by the end of the 1990s, his career had fallen into another slump with critically panned films like The Jackal, Mercury Rising, and Breakfast of Champions, saved only by the success of the Michael Bay-directed Armageddon which was the highest grossing film of 1998 worldwide. The same year his voice and likeness were featured in the PlayStation video game Apocalypse. In 1999, Willis then went on to the starring role in M. Night Shyamalan's film, The Sixth Sense. The film was both a commercial and critical success and helped to increase interest in his acting career.

Willis subsequent projects would include two successful Die Hard sequels, as well as other roles the 1989 Norman Jewison drama In Country, and the 1989 hit comedy Look Who's Talking, in which Willis voiced baby Mikey. Though he'd engage in a few stinkers, like the unsuccessful Hudson Hawk and North, he would also continue to strike told with hugely popular movies like The Last Boyscout, Pulp Fiction, and Armageddon.

Die Hard star Bruce Willis is awaiting his fourth child, though if he planned the order out decades ago, I doubt he would have seen this coming. It’s been seventeen years since he last created life, but at a spry and healthy fifty-six, he should do just fine.
Willis famously divorced from wife Demi Moore more than a decade ago. He notably enjoyed the single life for awhile but eventually settled down with Emma Heming in 2009. She’s nineteen years his junior, but for Hollywood, that’s far from a ludicrous age gap. There’s no word on exactly when the designer and model is due, but she’s reportedly had a bit of a baby bump in recent photographs.
Pop Blend sends out its congratulations to both Willis and Heming. They should make for wonderful parents, and the child should bring them closer together.

JUNAID KHAN THE YOUNG PAKISTANI FAST BOWLER CRCKETER

Junaid Khan ,born 24 December 1989, Swabi District) is a Pakistani international cricketer who bowls left arm medium-fast. He is the first player from Swabi to make it into the Pakistan national cricket team. After an injury to Sohail Tanvir on the eve of the World Cup, Khan was called up as his replacement, with no experience in international cricket. Khan did not play in the tournament, and later made his ODI debut in April 2011. In June that year Khan represented Lancashire County Cricket Club in English domestic cricket.

Khan is from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and has built up an impressive domestic career with Abbottabad, for whom he debuted in January 2007. The record acquires greater sheen given that Abbottabad are among the weaker sides on the circuit. Those performances have led him to Pakistan A selection, for whom he has been impressive in two series now, never less than when taking nine wickets in a 'Test' against Sri Lanka A in Hambantota in September 2010.Cricinfo staff February 2011

Khan made his first-class debut on 24 January 2007 at the age of 17. Playing for Abbottabad against Multan, his first wicket was that of Majid Majeed. The match ended in a draw and Khan finished with four wickets for 57 runs . For four years he took wickets consistently for his domestic team Abottabad and he was the team's chief strike bowler, he also played for Abbottabad Falcons in the Faysal Bank Twenty20. Khan also played for Pakistan A before making his World Cup debut.

At U-19 level Junaid Khan was among of a crop of the most promising young fast bowlers in recent years, alongside Mohammad Amir. Good pace and better stamina and an ability to move the ball around if the conditions are right, Khan finally made it to national contention when he was called up for Pakistan's 2011 World Cup squad as a late replacement for Sohail Tanvir. His Test debut, against Zimbabwe in 2011, was uneventful, but in his second Test he showed his class with a five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka on a flat surface in Abu Dhabi.
