Ujjwala Raut, a Significant Success on International Runways and Designer Ads

Ujjwala Raut was born on June 11, 1978 in Bombay, India. Her age is 31. She grew up in Mumbai, India where she was one of five daughters of a senior policeman. 

She has black hair and brown eyes. Her measurements are 34-24-35 and she is 5-foot-11 tall. In 1996, when she was 17 years old, she won the Femina Look of the Year in Miss India Pageant. Additionally she was ranked among the Top 15 in Elite Model Look of the Year in Nice.

Raut was a 17-year-old commerce student when she became the winner of Femina Look of the Year at the Feminia Miss India 1996 contest. She was also among the Top 15 in Elite Model Look of the Year in Nice. She walked the ramp for numerous high-end fashion shows, including Yves Saint-Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Gucci, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and Emilio Pucci, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. She has also posed for advertisements of Dolce & Gabbana, Gap, H&M, Pianegonda, Roberto Cavalli, and Yves Saint-Laurent. Raut has graced the covers of ELLE, Time, L'Officiel Magazine, Tank, and WWD.

In 2000, she moved to Paris to pursue her modeling career. As a fashion model she has worked with numerous prominent design houses, as a catwalk model, including Yves Saint-Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli, Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Gucci, Valentino, Hugo Boss, Cynthia Rowley, and Emilio Pucci. 

Throughout her career she has been signed variously with Place Model Management, Brave Model Management, City Models (Paris), View Management (Spain), and IMG Models (London and Milan). 

Ujjwala Raut has been the face of Yves Saint-Laurent and additionally appeared in print ads for Dolce & Gabbana, Gap, H&M, Pianegonda, Roberto Cavalli, and Raut. She has also been Victoria’s Secrets model. 

She has graced the covers of numerous magazines in the U.S., the U.K. and India, including Vogue, Elle, Time (Style & Design), Marie Claire, L’Officiel, Tank, and WWD. She also made an appearance on the Wendy Pepper fashion show at Bryant Park for Project Runway. 

Ujjwala Raut married British model Craig Maxwell Sterry, on June 19, 2004 in New York City at the apartment of rock legend David Bowie and his wife, legendary supermodel Iman. Her bridesmaids were fellow models Liya Kebede and Anne Vyalitsyna. The couple has one daughter, Ksha, three years old. As mentioned above, the couple is now in the midst of divorce proceedings
