Things now really seem to be heating up in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. According to an insider, recently ousted contestant Mahek Chahal is being considered for a re-entry in the house.
Buzz has it that Laxmi Tripathi and Shonali Nagrani has also been roped in as possible wild card entrants, but Mahek seems to be the front-runner.
Mahek Chahal ( born Priti Chahal) is a Bollywood actress and a Norwegian model of Punjabi Jat Sikh origin. Mahek made her Bollywood debut with Balbir and later in the lead role in the movie Nayee Padosan (2003). Mehek featured in a music video with Jazzy B and Sukshinder Shinda. Mahek also featured in a item number in the movie Chameli (2004). Mehek next performed in a Punjabi movie Dil Apna Punjabi (2006). Mehek next played supporting roles in films Wanted and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna (2009). Mahek next featured in a item number in the movie Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011). Mahek was also in the reality television show Bigg Boss 5 for 10 weeks inside the house on the channel Colors.
Mahek started out by taking part and winning in 'Miss Movie International' which is a beauty pageant run in Europe. As a winner, she got a free ticket to Mumbai and then started modeling over there. She has done TV commercials for Mentor Shirts, Godrej Refrigerator, Fevicol, Bombay Dyeing, Bar-One Chocolate. She has also modeled in Punjabi pop singer's music videos Jazzy B and Sukshinder Shinda in the song "Chak De Boli" and "Jindey" which went on to become super-hit songs.[3] Mahek has also modelled in Manmohan Waris's hit song "Dil Te Maar Gayi."
Mahek was first considered for a role in Ajnabee but was not selected due to her linguistic shortcomings; the role subsequently went to Bipasha Basu who won all the Debut awards for that year. Chahal then joined Kishore Namit's acting school in Mumbai to work on her skills. She managed to get a Telugu film titled Neetho, but her dialogues in the film were dubbed. In the following year, she made her Bollywood debut with the lead role in Nayee Padosan (2003). She has since then been featured in a number of music videos also with Jazzy B and Sukshinder Shinda in the song "Chak De Boli" and "Jindey" which went on to become super-hit songs.
In 2004, she did an item number in Kareena Kapoor starrer Chameli which became widely famous. Chahal next performed in a Punjabi film Dil Apna Punjabi which did decent business. She also played supporting roles in Salman Khan starrer films Wanted and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna (2009). Her song "Le Le Maza Le" in Wanted is her most famous song so far in her career. Chahal next did an item number titled "Chamki Mast Jawaani" in Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana which became very popular (2011).
She became popular on social networking sites like Facebook and twitter.She was very disappointed by the allegations made by fellow housemate Pooja Bedi on getting the help of show host salman khan to win the show.She told that Pooja Bedi is jealous of her popularity.Though she did not win the show she was already considered as a winner among her fans.
She also went on a world tour with Himesh Reshammiya and has performed at various locations, most importantly, the Wembley Arena and the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam etc.
Reportedly, when Pooja Bedi was evicted, she claimed that Mahek is Salman’s favourite and he is the one backing her. After this statement, Mahek was shown the exit door in the show. But now, the actress is again set to get a second chance.
Mahek Chahal, who was speculated to have connections with Salman Khan was ousted two weeks back.
Rumour has it that the move to call Mahek was allegedly pre-planned right from the beginning.
On condition of anonymity, a source said, “Mahek and Salman are close friends and Salman was the one, who got Mahek in the Bigg Boss house. He was the one who asked the channel to evict Mahek to prove that there is nothing between him and her.”
On contacting Mahek Chahal, she confirmed that she has been approached. "Yes, I am one of the contestants and if I get the chance to get back, I will settle scores with Sky."
At present amongst the five inmates in the house, apart from Sky all four inmates have been nominated for this week’s eviction. However, the channel has been running a ticker on the screen stating that voting lines have been closed for this week. In most probability, Mahek will make an entry into the house on Saturday itself.
