VEENA MALIK The most controversial Pakistani celebrity

Controversy resulted in Pakistan over a nude image of Malik on the cover of FHM magazine India edition in which she had "ISI" written on her upper arm -- the initials of Pakistan's controversial Inter-Services Intelligence spy agency.  Malik says she did not pose for any nude photos.



Veena was born in Rawalpindi, to Ali Malik, a Pakistan Army soldier , and his wife, Zeenat Malik.


Coming from a conservative Muslim family, Veena has faced great adversity from members of her family, especially her father,on her decision to join show business but has emerged as one of the leading women in the Pakistani television and films with her abilities to mimic others and improvise. Veena has worked as a representative at the World Health Organisation for two years and sponsors a child at the SOS Children's Village, an NGO based in Pakistan working with orphaned children.




All through her schooling, Veena stood out as one of the most bright and prominent students. It is here that the seed and the want to be recognized was sown. She not only excelled at academics but was also a fore runner in extracurricular activities and sports. She has been a basketball player through school and college. She also has the credit of winning a lot of laurels in literary activities such as debates, Quirat and Naat competitions.

The real Veena is very simple, friendly and warm-hearted person.

If one is to forget her celebrity status for a moment and look at her educational background, then Veena turns out to be a bigger celebrity
Veena has always been a bright student in school. She always claimed top position in her class throughout her school life.
She got third position in matriculation in D.G.Khan Board.
She passed intermediate and did graduation from F.G College Rawalpindi.
Like all brilliant students, Veena was active in extra curricular activities.
She took part in debates and played basket ball
Veena also got basic military training and is a good shooter!



Like all people desiring to join the industry in Pakistan, Veena started with the film industry in Lahore, the home of Lollywood, an amalgamation of the city's name with Hollywood. She was to meet the likes of Mukhtar Ahmed and Jarar Rizvi in 1999, who landed her a role in the epic Pakistani film Tere Pyar Mein. By the end of the year, she was already being considered for other such projects when she became a part of a growing scandal.    




In April 2010, it was widely speculated in the media, that Malik provided escort services to cricketer Mohammad Asif in 2008, for which she demanded a large sum of around 13 Million PKR ($153,000) and wanted to escalate the claim to court. Later, she served a legal notice on Asif, after two cheques he gave her to settle the outstanding amount were bounced. In August-September 2010, Malik claimed that her former boyfriend Mohammad Asif has links with bookies and handed over evidence about Asif's contacts with Indian bookmakers to the International Cricket Council. She also appeared in tabloid newspapers claiming death threats had been made to her for reporting evdence of corruption.



In October 2010, Malik appeared in the Indian television reality show Bigg Boss Season 4.[8] She was evicted two weeks before the finals, and was one of the final six contestants out of the original fourteen who had participated.[9] Malik was also part of the finale of the show.[10] After her Bigg Boss stay, she was mentioned in the media as the voice of liberal muslims, including leading dailies, Daily Times,[11] Express Tribune,[12] The Australian[13] and magazine Tehelka, which comparing her with liberal rector of Darul Uloom Deoband, Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi said, "these two newly public figures might teach Muslims to stop feeling eternally outraged."


In February 2011, Veena Malik became part of the Cricket World Cup reality show in Delhi, India, called "Big Toss." Big Toss was a reality game show with contestants and Malik as the captain of one team, against Rakhi Sawant and her team.




In March 2011, Malik engaged in a passionate debate with a mufti, who claimed she had engaged in immoral behaviour as a contestant on Bigg Boss, even though he admitted to not having watched the show. Malik countered pointing out the double standards of Pakistani media against women among other rebuttals


Veena Malik has five sisters and one brother. One of her elder sister is a lecturer in Abdur Qadeer College, Rawalpindi.
